What to Expect

When you visit YurtCation, you’re in another world. If that scares you a little, no worries. We will make it as comfortable as possible. If you love camping, then you will love YurtCation. If your idea of “camping” is the Ritz, then you may struggle at YurtCation.

Here’s what we recommend for the most enjoyable stay:

If you want a romantic getaway, then book 2-3 nights in the Winter. You will love the silence and crystal clear night skies. And you can either venture outside for snow shoeing, hiking or winter biking OR stay toasty warm in the 80 degree Yurt. We will have plenty of firewood for you!

If you are really active, then book a few nights in the Summer. We have a canoe, stand up paddle boards, and hiking on the property. Or, venture to Camrock State Park for extreme biking.

If you love nature, then late Spring and Summer is the best time for you to book at YurtCation. There will be tons of frogs, lily pads, deer, cranes, turtles, and birds. It’s fun to sit on the deck and join nature’s world. You may even spot the elusive “Justin Beaver”… he’s really just a muskrat, but past guests have given him this name.
